Recalling the main idea, cause and effect, problem and solution, sequencing beginning, middle, and end, summarizing, making connections, and identifying the author’s purpose and the theme are ALL essential skills to practice. Use these low prep, just print, Spring reading response organizers after any type of reading: after guiding reading groups, after independent reading, for homework, for center work, etc., to reinforce reading skills.
